The Asute Angling Spreader alloy block
If your net has a spreader on it, supplied as standard the chances are the spreader will be plastic. Plastic is very versatile but over time cracks appear due to stress, caused by the rods supporting the net and anything that ends up in the net, hopefully a big fish. Over time the stress will take it toll and the block will show signs of deteriation. This is one of the best replacement available, an alloy spreader block that will fit all nets with push in net support rods but specimen nets in particular. Cast in alloy with two holes to accept the rods and has a standard net thread to screw to your landing net handle. Strong and simple. Please be aware that these do have some casting marks however it does not effect their performance.
These blocks weigh under 100g and are of a size, luckily enough, that they are able to be sent through the post with the Royal Mails Large letter facilty.
